It’s good to be back on top of the Northeast after a scary pre-Olympic slide – and an unholy Ottawa surge – put the Sabres in jeopardy of holding on to their division lead.
In Los Angeles, hockey fans are about as rare as a lion in the arctic, but family roots in Buffalo and a love for the game proved good enough for me. While I grew up watching the (Mighty) Ducks of Anaheim, my first love always was with the Buffalo Sabres - the team that introduced me to the sport. Living in Buffalo for college gives me a great chance to cover the sport in the best hockey market south of the border (and show that some Californians know a thing or two about hockey in the process).
