Report: Sharks to sign Setoguchi to 2 year deal

The Sharks are poised to sign restricted free agent Devin Setoguchi, a source close to the negotiations has told CSNBayArea.com.

An announcement could come as soon as Saturday. The length or terms of the deal were not revealed but it’s been speculated that the parties were negotiating a two-year contract.

Earlier this week Setoguchi’s agent, Paul Krepelka, told The Sporting News that he was optimistic that an agreement could be reached with San Jose.

Setoguchi, 23, scored 20 goals with 16 assists in 70 contests last season but the Sharks are banking on his 2008-09 performance, when he scored 31 goals with 65 points in 81 games.
