Ranger Retribution?

Saturday night’s lopsided win by the Pittsburgh Penguins reveals more problems for the Rangers than the controversial late hit by notorious late hitting Matt Cooke.

But that hit was all the buzz at the post game press conference and it is all that head coach John Tortorella was willing to discuss. What should have been brought up is how they got steamrolled in back-to-back games by the tune of 13-4. What also was left unexplained was why he started back-up net minder/full time sieve Steve Valiquette against a team as imposing as Pittsburgh.

There are many questions with this Rangers team right now, but what is unquestioned is that they will be facing those same Pittsburgh Pens that completely humiliated them a few night’s back. Without question is the return of struggling starter Henrik Lundqvist. Will the return of the “King” mean a reversal of fortune for this reeling squad? If I were to put money on it…well, on second thought I wouldn’t put money on it. Sather’s band of merry-men are in a serious tailspin.

Will the Rangers be seeking retribution on a Penguins team that will be without the culprit(Matt Cooke) that set off the Slapshot-like end of the third period? Who knows, I don’t think even the head coach knows what to expect. What do I think about tonight’s game? I ‘m just glad it’s not on Vs.
