Can the Habs survive December?

It’s beginning to look a lot like crunch time. Have you checked out the Canadiens’ December schedule? It’s scary. Beginning with the Leafs’ visit to the Bell Centre on Tuesday night, the team will play 17 games in 31 days. This includes:
- 11 games on the road, culminating with a seven-game odyssey that begins Dec. 19 on Long Island and ends on the 31st in Florida.
- Four sets of back-to-back games.
- 16 games against Eastern Conference opponents (the other, on Dec. 17, is Welcome Home Guillaume Latendresse Night when the Minnesota Wild visits the Bell Centre).
- Two games each against Ottawa and Buffalo, teams the Canadiens are chasing – the pursuit made more problematic by three-point games – in the Northeast Division standings.

I think all teams have to go through this with the Olympics this season so the Canadiens will not be going through this alone.
