Alex Goglioski out 2-3 weeks with injury

Pittsburgh Penguins

The hits keep coming for the Pittsburgh Penguins as it was learned today that defenseman Alex Goligoski, who was off to a great start with the club, will be sidelined for 2-3 weeks with a lower-body injury.

“He’s getting an MRI today; He’s got a lower-body injury,” head coach Dan Bylsma said. “We are going to estimate 2 to 3 weeks on Alex.”

The Penguins are now missing their top four defenseman: Sergei Gonchar (broken left wrist), Kris Letang (shoulder contusion), Brooks Orpik (lower body) and Goligoski.

Also on the mend are forwards Tyler Kennedy (undisclosed), Chris Kunitz (lower body) and Maxime Talbot (torn labrum).
