Claude on Krejci: “His game certainly isn’t where it should be”

Boston Bruins

Claude Julien has recently spoken to the Boston Herald in regards to Krejci’s current shortcomings and flat out said what was on some Bruin’s fans minds: Krejci has to pick up his game.

Julien responded to questions not only about Krejci’s play as of late, but also to the injury. When asked about the injury and whether or not it has affected his play Julien had this to say: ““I’m certainly not unsympathetic to what he’s gone through…No doubt he didn’t get the same advantage as anybody else to get himself ready, because he was limited to not much (in workouts) in the middle of the summer. (But) we’re in the second month of the season now. We’ve been on the ice for two months. Somewhere along the way, whether it’s extra work on the ice, in the gym or everything else, you’ve just got to work your way through it.”

After speaking with Boston Herald beat writer Stephen Harris, the Bruins’ skipper believes that Krejci needs to work a little harder. He goes on to explain that he says Krejci “trying to do something,” however the impression is given yet implied that Krejci maybe trying to do too much or rather ‘pressing’ himself.

Although slightly ill-informed, Stephen Harris brings the report to us that this would be Julien stepping out of character. This is simply not the case. Julien, like Neely and Peter Chiarelli usually speak their minds and give their outright opinion. It’s not only their mantra, it’s what has worked.

Any Bruins fan who has been following them would know that. For true fans, this isn’t coming out of turn. What has some questioning the timing is that Michael Ryder, who many assume is one of Julien’s favorite players has yet to face the whip. Ryder’s play this year has not lived up to expectations for a team looking to get goals in the wake of the departure of Phil Kessel. Neither player is carrying the mail at this point.

We’ve seem Claude Julien already crticize Chara on his play. Hopefully his former countrymen responds just as the captain has these past few games.
