Washington places Michael Nylander on waivers

Capitals

The Washington Capitals have placed froward Michael Nylander on waivers this morning. The high price forward has not played this season for the Capitals but has appeared in 5 games in the AHL and has scored 1 goal and has 4 assists.

Nylander makes $4.875.000 this season and next.

There have been some rumors out there saying the Boston Bruins may claim him off waivers or re-entry waivers so they can fill the void of Marc Savard and Milan Lucic.

Nylander would be playing full time in the NHL of his salary was not as high as it is, if he were in the $2.5 million range he would not be in this position. We can’t blame him though for taking that huge deal from Washington a few years back.
