Hurricanes lose Ruutu, Whitney to injuries, recall Boychuk
The already depleted lineup of the Carolina Hurricanes will get even more depleted for at least the next few days as Tuomo Ruutu and Ray Whitney join Eric Staal and Erik Cole as injured Carolina Hurricanes. To counter act the injuries the Hurricanes have recalled Zach Boychuk from the AHL.
Both Whitney and Ruutu were injured during Wednesday’s 3-0 loss to the Florida Panthers, the teams 10th straight loss.
Both players will be reevaluated tomorrow, right now they are considered to be day to day but there is some speculation both injuries could be more serious.
The Hurricanes are already without Eric Staal who is out of the lineup with an undisclosed injury and Erik Cole who suffered a fractured leg early on in the season.
The Hurricanes have recalled former first round draft pick Zack Boychuk from Albany of the AHL. Boychuk has 4 goals and 5 assists for 9 points in 12 games this season.
