Rob Blake placed on IR

San Jose Shark captain and defenseman Rob Blake has been placed on the injured reserve with an apparent upper body injury he suffered last night in Columbus. Blake was seen today with his arm in a sling.

The Sharks are having to make another injury adjustment to their lineup as Rob Blake will miss the Detroit contest with an upper body injury and Derek Joslin has been called up for action. Blake has been placed on the injured reserve list after having to leave the Columbus game on Wednesday night.

Joslin has played in two games for San Jose this year and is a +2. During his 10 games with Worcester, the Richmond Hill, Ontario product has registered five assists and ranks second among Worcester defensemen in scoring.
