Send Carey Price down?
After allowing 5 goals tonight on 30 shots and only having 2 wins in 8 starts and clearly not being an effective goalie right now should the Montreal Canadiens consider sending Carey Price to Hamilton of the AHL?
I am not a Canadiens fan so I think I can look at this situation without red, white and blue glasses on.
In my opinion Jaroslav Halak has taken over the starting job over Price so would it make more sense to send Price back down to the AHL to get to start the majority of the games and to get his game back to where it needs to be?
Maybe it’s just me but I think this is what Bob Gainey needs to do because Montreal is not the place to be if your a young struggling goaltender.

The defence needs to be sent down to Hamilton.
That would send a terrible message to Price. Don’t forget the Habs still need a backup. Are you saying they send Price to the minors and call up a minor leaguer? Expect Halak to be run like crazy in order to get that AHL plug into the net. Nice idea but you need someone to take his place.
I agree it could spell disaster for Price,, but it is a possibility if his play doesn’t improve and at age 30 Curtis Sanford could be in prime condition to step into a backup role…
