Fans Corner Spotlight Canucks
Today I am continuing the Fans Corner Series, with today’s spotlight being on the Vancouver Canucks. I would like to thank James for his answers.
Why are the Canucks a playoff team?
Well, for starters, we have one of the best keepers in the league. When he is playing in top form, he can carry the Canucks deep into the playoffs. Also, with the Sedins offensive production and the success of the current second line, we also have a lot of weapons on offense. Coupled with the fact that the Canucks have a really great defense.
Luongo is by far one of the best goalies in the league. Luongo can win many games by himself. He is the odds-on favorite for winning the starting job for team Canada. The Canucks defense is very solid, led by Edler and Ehrhoff. A great insight by James.
Who is your favorite player?
I don’t have one favorite player. So here are my favourite players: Kyle Wellwood, Roberto Luongo, Ryan Johnson, Mason Raymond, and Shane O’Brien.
I am really glad you mentioned Raymond, because he is one of my favorites too. He skates like the wind. O’Brien is a solid defenseman, who is only going to get better with more experience. Ryan Johnson is one of those unsung heroes whom I love to mention, just because they do not get enough credit. Another great comment, James. All worthy players.
Tell my readers why they should be excited about the Canucks.
The Canucks are going through a bad patch with injuries at the moment. Once the team is back to full strength, I think the Canucks shall be more dominant and start to move up the standings. With those injuries, we have still won our last 2 games against the Black Hawks and the Leafs. One other reason is that Mathieu Schneider is due to make his Canucks debut in our next game against the Oilers.
I think the Canucks did a great signing with Schneider, a great pick-up. The Canucks have all the talent, once it is in place, I quite agree with ya. That is great insight.
Hey, you can read more about James on www.penaltykill.net for the the Canucks, and you can also follow him on http://twitter.com/Canuckulhead. He is a great friend, someone I highly recommend following.
It has been a great time getting to know some of my followers. I am looking forward to more, because I have two more coming in Philly and N.J.
Great job James hope to see more of you .
Until next time, take care.
Randy
Good roll-out on a team who are fast becoming my “second” favourite this season. They’re playing hard against all the odds and taking the fight to most teams they’ve faced up to now – that and the fact that if anyone can convince you to follow the Canucks, it’s the big E. James, Randy; I thank you both gentlemen.
Also a shout out to Mikael Samuelsson. He’s showing Vancouver can still have leadership when they’re a team with a few holes.
