Leafs captaincy talk

I think we all can agree the Toronto Maple Leafs did the right thing by not naming a team captain out of training camp.

Early on in the season the teams play is showing they do not have the right leader on the team that can grab them by the horns and lead them to a victory or settle down a team or city.

If Mike Komisarek or Francois Beauchemin was named captain in September the team would still be in the position that they are in now and the pressure that would have been on them would have be so intense, the fans and media would already be turning on them.

This is why the Leafs did the right thing by not naming a captain, they currently do not have any player in the organization that can handle all things (good or bad) that comes with being the captain of the greatest hockey franchise with the greatest hockey fans in the world.
