Odds and ends from Edmonton

It was brought up on tonight’s CBC HNIC telecast tonight that Oilers goalie Nikolai Khabibulin loses 8-12 pounds of fluid every game, his skates fill up with so much sweat he has special holes drilled out in the bottom of his skates so the sweat can drain out, he also changes his blocker and glove after each period and goes through three different jerseys over the course of a game because of sweat.

Sam Gagner and Craig Conroy started throwing bombs at each other right off a faceoff, both landed some shots then Conroy lost balance as Gagne was swinging him around, when Conroy was down and defenseless Gagner threw one last punch before the linesman interfered. Gagner is doing all that he can do to work his way off the Oilers fourth line.
