BREAKING NEWS:The Minnesota Wild sign goaltender Niklas Backstrom to a 4-year, $24 million contract extension. Details to follow…
In the first big pre-deadline day move, the Minnesota Wild lock up goalie Niklas Backstrom for 4 years, at $6million per. I must say, although $6million is a lot, why not pay him the money he deserves. A smart move by the Wild organization. There goes his name out of the rumor mill!

Good to see them get him signed, he is an elite level goalie.
I agree Justin, and he deserves the $ he has gotten. Now, if only the Wild could really solidify three lines, I think things would look up for them
The next big piece is Gaborik… I think its clear he is not going to resign there, I wonder what their price is for him and if he is moved tomorrow.
